@ the segerstrom (costa mesa, ca)...i was there ! when i bought the ticket i thought it was a taping of the prairie home companion, but realized later it was garrison doing a solo performance on stage...still interesting...he's got a unique sense of humor and unique style. still not sure what he truly believes in terms of Christian faith. You hear him often mention his "lutheranism" , but also says something about having left lutheranism. He still mentions the faith in his show & talked about it in general during this solo show. Let us keep Garrison in prayer that he may not lose his faith. Keep the faith, Garrison! Don't spend too much time in New York City or your faith will be diminished quickly.

5/17/14 MESSAGE to KFI (640am LA) re LADY DJ CALLING DAVE CRUZ "SWEETIE" & to all women who call grown men, other than their own boyfriends or husbands, "sweetie" ,
"honey" et al. ,shame on u: ...I happened to be listening to the radio a few days ago & the two DJ's (one male,one female) were talking to dave cruz who was at the scene of one of the san diego wildfires. At the end of the conversation, the lady DJ said "Thanks Sweetie" to dave as if she were talking to her husband or boyfriend. It made me cringe. And the male DJ also apparently found it embarrassing, politely commenting that it's not professional. It's not only not professional,it is emasculating to a grown man to be called "sweetie" or "dear" or honey" et al by a lady in almost any public interaction,including by grocery store clerks at the end of a sale.And in most cases it is NOT just habit, nor a casual normal term of endearment,it is deliberately chosen to marginalize a grown man. Perhaps there's some sort of anger in the woman who feels it necessary to try to humiliate a man in such a way, I don't know,but it really shouldn't be tolerated. I hope the station manager caught this & addresses it properly.

We (my wife & I) are VERY TIRED of hearing your ads on the radio,especially the one that begins with "I will never forget the day...." blah blah blah. The way you talk in an almost robotic monotone manner, if I was your son I would have a difficult time being affectionate as well. Kids need affection & love not just orders & commands & expectations of perfect obedience. Maybe these ads for some odd reason help your business,but we think a kinder,gentler,more loving tone might help even more, & won't make us & others reach for the radio tuner to quickly change stations. I say "others" & "we"  because I've noticed my wife & I are NOT the only ones who find your ads grating on our nerves. I searched online & found other similar sentiments to mine. My own mother used to use this approach to me as a child to show "who is the boss" but if she had just once spoken with love & affectionate in a friendly manner as a friend (as she does now) any antagonistic dynamic would have instantly changed. Kids & parents won't  have "power struggles" if they are friends.

Audio:1/15/14 LAKERS BYRON SCOTT re REVIVAL of the  INGELWOOD FORUM (89.3fm,kpcc) I remember the "good ol' days" of the Forum when the Lakers played there..the Magic Johnson,Byron Scott,Kareem Abdul Jabbar,James Worthy et al LAKERS,...and now the EAGLES are having a big concert here in January (tonight! 1/15/14 ) and they put $ millions $ into revamping the interior and hope to have a lot of new regular top groups etc in concert. Ever since the Staples center opened and the Lakers & Kings moved out of the Forum,its just been sort of a periodic venue for random concerts, also a church owned it for a while and had big Easter services but not nearly as much as it was built for. So there's HIGH HOPES for a revitalization for the community as well.
